Assistant Professor of Public Health

The Department of Applied Health at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is seeking to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Public Health. The Assistant Professor will teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the Public Health program; coordinate and supervise internships and service learning; network with community agencies and organizations; participate in departmental, school, and university service; promote the public health program within the region, nationally and internationally; develop and maintain an active research agenda; potential for research funding. Quality performance will be expected in teaching.
A doctorate in Public Health or a doctorate in a closely related field. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability or potential to secure internal and external funding and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals. The department is seeking a candidate with strong interpersonal skills who can communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and local public and private agencies and organizations. ABD candidates are encouraged to apply but must have completed a doctoral degree by August 14, 2019.
Preference will be given to those who have a CHES/MCHES or CPH; teaching experience and/or interests in biostatistics; and scholarship in areas of Public Health not already addressed by current faculty.
Terms of Appointment
Continuing tenure-track position for nine months beginning August 15, 2019, with opportunity for summer employment based on availability of funds and course enrollment.
