• BA/BS degree and at least four years of relevant experience or advanced degree with two years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal eight years.
• Experience with clinical and/or translational research
• Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Associate (CCRA) certification, or equivalent (i.e., RAC)
• Experience with regulatory aspects (institutional and FDA) of conducting clinical research.
• Ability to work with investigators of all experience levels.
• Ability to work with senior level administrators as well as technical staff.
• Experience in the management of resources and research projects.
• Experience leading teams and delegating or assigning work tasks.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Strong organizational skills, including evidence of ability to multi-task.
• Advanced level skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• BA/BS degree in health, public health or biomedical disciplines.
• Advanced degree in health or biomedical discipline or public health.
• Project Management Certification.
• Grant writing experience.
• Familiarity with academic medical centers, particularly the University of Minnesota system and processes strongly preferred.
As a recruitment specialist with the 10,000 Families Study, you will be a part of a multidisciplinary team in a very collaborative atmosphere working with faculty, staff, trainees and members of the general public. You will be promoting a new cohort study that is being formed to study lifestyle and genetic influences on health and disease to members of the general public and their families. The ideal applicant will have a combination of research and public relations/communication skills, knowledge of traditional (e.g., invitation letters) and new (e.g., social media) strategies, and community outreach experience to reach the study's targeted recruitment goal. The candidate will have excellent communication skills, including strong verbal and writing skills throughout daily work activities. The candidate will maintain attention to detail and possess strong organization skills throughout daily work activities to provide optimal support to 10,000 Families Study investigators. Close collaboration with 10,000 Families Study investigators is required.
Collaborate with 10,000 Families Study investigators to develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan using knowledge of effective, innovative, traditional and state-of-the-art techniques based on population and strategy. Job responsibilities:
• 40% Develop recruitment/retention tools, templates, and resources. This includes recruitment strategies to build a cohort study that is diverse and inclusive of Minnesotan families. Identify key sources, e.g., healthcare systems, the community, special populations, and existing databases from which participants can be recruited.
• 40% Coordinate recruitment activities including enrollment and responding to participants' questions and concerns. Monitor recruitment goals and address issues as they arise.
• 20% Serve as a liaison to and collaborate with the Masonic Cancer Center Office of Community Engagement and Education for coordinating recruitment with community outreach. Participate in targeted community outreach and engagement initiatives for specific populations and communities to enhance understanding of research and facilitate participation in the 10,000 Families Study.
