JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assesses the data development and collection needs of assigned clinical service/functional/operational departments. Coordinates the collection of and/or abstracts clinical, operational and financial data elements from multiple sources. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of data. Analyzes information to identify trends and present recommendations for improvements, as appropriate. Develops and maintains databases. Prepares or oversees preparation of recurring and special reports for management reflecting clinical/financial metrics for dashboards and activities, such as statistical reports for operational and performance improvement. Analyzes, develops and researches electronic alternatives for system reports/queries/downloads to evaluate data. Creates data visualization and on-going reports for program management.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Health Information Management, or a related field requiring strong data management or statistical analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Coursework in Statistics and/or Statistical Process Control required.
Preferred: Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Health Information Management, Epidemiology, Public Health or related field requiring strong data management and statistical analysis.
Experience related to the integrating of data, preferably clinical in nature, from disparate sources; and managing databases; creating queries. Preferred: Advanced analytical skills for design, data display, report preparation and problem resolution.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Familiarity with standard desktop and windows based computer system, including email, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation. Ability to use other software required to perform essential functions.
Minimum: Independently mobile (constantly); computer work / keyboarding (frequently); able to lift charts/files/equipment weighing up to 20 pounds (occasionally), ability to handle multiple conflicting demands, ability to work long hours.
