America’s Health Rankings® Intern, Arundel Metrics, Inc.
Arundel Metrics, Inc. (AMI) is a small population health research firm in St. Paul. Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities nationwide through the analysis, interpretation and visualization of complex health, economic, and social data. We have written America's Health Rankings (AHR) for the last 29 years. America’s Health Rankings is a state-by-state comparison of population health that combines 35 metrics that represent behaviors, community and environment, policy, clinical care, and health outcomes into a comparative ranking of state health. Along with the annual health rankings report, AMI is also responsible for writing and managing content for additional population health reports focused on seniors, women and children, and those who served in the US armed forces. AMI gathers and analyzes secondary data and conducts literature reviews on numerous health topics in order to write and publish these reports.
We currently have an opening for a paid ($17.50/hr) intern for 15 to 20 hrs/week. The primary responsibility is conducting literature reviews on various public health topics and summarizing the literature review findings in one-to-two page public health impact statements.
After gaining experience with Arundel Metrics, students may have an opportunity to analyze state-level data. This opportunity to work with aggregate public health surveillance data may fulfill Applied Practical Experience (APEx) requirements and could be a data source for an Integrated Learning Experience (ILE).
TO APPLY: Please submit your resume and a writing sample that demonstrates your analytical skills (no more than 10 pages) to Sarah Milder at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You must be able to pass a criminal background check. EEO employer.
