|Position Description:||Richmond City Health District (RCHD) is looking for a Public Health Nurse (PHN) Supervisor to join the clinical leadership team and provide clinical operations management, program oversight, and supervision for clinical services and is responsible for the essential functions of TB, STI, IZ and other communicable disease programs. This Supervisor also oversees clinical services operations, field operations, grant requirements, policies and procedures, data collection and orientation and training for the team. Exercises line supervision over multiple registered nurses by training, scheduling, formally evaluating performance and issuing discipline. This position ensures theses services are being executed within VDH policy and that staff are trained to provide these services. This PH Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring quality care is implemented in the clinical aspects of the main site and 8 off site clinical locations of RCHD. Ensures clinical services are up to necessary standards and are compliant with current regulations. Additionally, the PHN assists in facilitating relationships among Richmond City Health District, community-based health care providers and community members and is knowledgeable of social and economic conditions related to public health nursing. The PHN can make sound, independent nursing judgments, analyze and problem solve, and establish priorities. Participates in regular trainings and staff meetings. This position may also provide direct nursing care in the clinical setting, communities, homes and schools.
|Qualifications:||Minimum qualifications include: excellent communication and people skills, the ability to deal effectively with people in sensitive situations, skilled at conflict resolution, good attention to detail and excellent work habits. The PHN Supervisor must excel as a team player, be able to work independently, and be skilled using a computer for word processing and data entry. Experience with project management, development of goals and objectives, and program evaluation needed. Experience working with low-income, disadvantaged or vulnerable populations required. Licensure as a registered nurse in the commonwealth of VA. Ability to make sound, independent nursing judgments. Direct experience supervising employees and skilled using a computer.
-BSN -MSN, MPH or masters in a related field -Experience in Public Health setting -Experience managing grants -Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of Public Health Nursing -Experience with case management and/or ambulatory clinic services.
