|Position Description:||This is technical and professional work of a complex nature which involves the development and analysis of data relating to the study, control and prevention of disease in Dutchess County. The incumbent will conduct statistical analyses of existing health and health services data, develop new data resources through data base linkages or acquisition, and support health planning, needs assessment and program development and evaluation. This position will coordinate services with other County and community agencies to provide passive and active disease surveillance and develop emergency action plans to address various situations, such as disease epidemics, bioterrorism, etc. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Public Health Planning and Education. Supervision may be exercised over the work of subordinate staff.
|Qualifications:||EITHER: (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master’s degree in Epidemiology plus one year of experience in technical or quantitative public health research or biostatistical analysis; OR: (B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field which should have included a minimum of ten credit hours in biostatistics and/or epidemiology and two years of experience in technical or quantitative public health research or biostatistical analysis; OR: (C) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in biostatistics or a closely related field, which shall have included a minimum of six credit hours in computer science, and four years of experience in technical or quantitative public health research work or biostati biostatistical biostatistical analysis;

Graduate school course work in mathematics, statistics, epidemiology or a related field may be substituted for the experience described above on a year-for-year basis basis (24 credit hours for one year of exper experience) up to a maximum of two years. 2.
