The health system is ranked high national and a top provider in California. The Continuous Improvement (CI) department consists of a team of advisors who are tasked with developing organizational capability to sustain a culture of continuous improvement. As facilitators and coaches, the CI advisors partner with leaders and front line staff to create the conditions for change and improvement. Works with vice president of administration/ chief of staff to the CEO and the chief innovation officer, and in partnership with the Continuous Improvement medical director, the Administrative Director, Continuous Improvement is accountable for driving the implementation of the Lean management system for the health system to achieve optimum overall True North dashboard performance. This position is accountable for driving strategic and value programs within the health system to support a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, high value care and a learning health system. This role will coordinate improvement efforts with the Department of Quality, Population Health, Clinical Innovation Center, Finance, Learning and Organization Development, Office of system Health Experience and Health Informatics/Clinical Systems. Ten years experience in Lean improvement implementation. Five years project management experience in a health care setting. Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration. Can also have a clinical background, but not required but experience in hospital operations, strategy or a clinical knowledge is desired. Demonstrated business acumen and negotiating skill in a highly complex, fast-paced, matrix environment. Demonstrated ability to bring about large-scale change though influenced-based leadership. Demonstrated skill in forming projects and efforts that deliver measurable results. Master's in Business Administration, Health Administration, Systems Engineering, Nursing or equivalent experience. Experience in a major consulting firm in areas of operations and/or strategy (health industry consulting preferred) or equivalent experience in hospital/clinical operations. Experience at an Academic Medical Center preferred. The midpoint of the salary range is around $232,500. System will look at internal equity, market data, and relevant experience when they come up with offers.
