POSITION DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES and EVIDENCE PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Minneapolis VA Evidence Synthesis Program (VA ESP) is part of the Center for Care Delivery and Outcomes Research (CCDOR) at the Minneapolis VA. Our established multidisciplinary team prepares scientifically rigorous, readable, and relevant syntheses of the clinical evidence base to improve the health of Veterans and others. We have worked closely with multiple national and international groups that fund and support evidence synthesis and development of clinical guidelines. CCDOR is a VA Health Services Research and Development Center of Innovation, and includes 26 core investigators, 8 affiliate investigators, and over 50 research and administrative staff. CCDOR supports over 70 funded projects and several post-doctoral training programs; it is affiliated with the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and Medical School.
As the Program Manager of VA ESP at Minneapolis, the successful applicant will help lead and conduct high-quality systematic reviews to inform and support the work of front-line clinicians, managers, and policymakers. Duties for this position include—leading and assisting with all stages of systematic reviews; supervising and training research staff; promoting the scientific vision and goals of VA ESP; ensuring the Minneapolis program and reports meet standards and administrative requirements of VA ESP; communicating with and engaging stakeholders; and coordinating with content experts who have varying degrees of experience with systematic reviews. The successful applicant will also publish peer-reviewed manuscripts and present findings in multiple forums, including VA and non-VA conferences, as well as briefings for clinicians and operational leadership.
