The Department of Neurology and the Biostatistics and Research Design Center at Boston Children's Hospital seek a PhD biostatistician to collaborate with investigators on basic and clinical research primarily in the area of neurology. The Department of Neurology has more than 90 faculty members and an extensive research portfolio in neurodevelopmental and nervous system disorders. The candidate will also be a member of the Biostatistics and Research Design Center, a group of 15-20 faculty and Master’s statisticians with extensive involvement and long experience in the hospital’s program of pediatric research. Faculty appointment will be at the Harvard Medical School. Rank requested will be commensurate with experience and scholarly contributions. The mission of the Biostatistics Center is to promote excellence in the design and conduct of clinical and translational research by providing biostatistical and methodological expertise, consultation and collaboration to the clinical and translational investigators at Boston Children’s Hospital. Toward this goal, the candidates’ responsibilities include collaborating with investigators to define the appropriate design, analysis and reporting of research studies, and teaching short courses and mentoring neurology trainees and junior faculty in statistical methodology. The successful candidate will have a doctorate in biostatistics or statistics, with at least 2 years of experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a strong interest in collaborative research. Experience in longitudinal studies, missing data, and clinical trials is highly desirable.
