The Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health (Center) is seeking a Curriculum Writer to develop health education materials for several of its behavioral health projects. This is a full-time Research Associate position. This position is based in the Center’s Baltimore, MD –based office and reports to the Curriculum Director. The successful candidate will work together with the Center’s behavioral health faculty and reservation-based research teams to create and adapt health education materials for various behavioral health projects and train team members in the delivery of those materials.
The Center has a mission to work in partnership with American Indian communities to raise the health status and self-sufficiency of American Indian people to the highest possible level. This mission is accomplished through three core activities: 1) research, 2) service, and 3) training.
This position will develop health education materials, including curriculum, training materials, and related ancillary materials for an assortment of Center field-based behavioral health research and service programs. Projects will include work on various topics including mental health, substance abuse prevention, sexual and reproductive health promotion, nutrition and obesity prevention, fitness and life skills, and early childhood education). The Curriculum Writer will work with team members on behavioral health projects as needed to create new lessons and tailor materials to meet the needs of our tribal partners. Attention to detail is a requirement.
This position will require field-based travel, including to Center offices in Arizona and New Mexico, as well as other locations.
