The Granville Vance Public Health is currently accepting applications for the position of Public Health Educator III. This position will serve as the Health Promotion Supervisor.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Primary duties for this full-time position are supervisory, consultative, strategic, and administrative in directing a health promotion program for a large geographical area including, for some projects, up to an 8-county region of North Carolina. The person in this position will be responsible for supervising all aspects of multiple health promotion programs, all health promotion team staff members for the two-county district, and all health department grant-funded programs including budgets, deliverables, reporting, and strategic partnerships. Grant preparation and management will also be primary responsibilities of the person in this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s degree in Public Health and two years’ experience in public health; or graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in health education and four years’ experience in public health education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants with teaching, grants management, publishing, and project management skills, three years of supervisory experience, and ten years of work experience are preferred. Must be able to work effectively with people of all educational levels. Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
