|This position joins the Oregon Health Authority’s statewide VISTA team. In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team retreats and meetings, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. |Member Duties : The VISTA will join a nimble team dedicated to reducing opioid overdoses and improving the quality of life for those suffering from addiction in Multnomah County. The VISTA member will participate in a variety of projects including completing a VISTA project on expanding understanding and policy options for social harms related to opioid misuse such as homelessness and child removal; building capacity for the tricountyopioidsafety.org website; recruiting individuals with lived-experience to join a region opioid safety coalition; and gaining skills in data gathering and visualization for an overdose surveillance system Suggested skills include flexibility, ability to work both as part of a team and independently, written and verbal communication, and comfort with compiling and manipulating small data sets in spreadsheets.
